본서는 임상병리학을 전공하는 학생들에게 적합하도록 구성하여 강의노트 형식으로 편집하였습
니다. 본서의 특징은 직접 강의하시는 교수님들의 효율적인 강의의 흐름과 요청에 따라 8장으로
나누었으며, 각 장(chapter)의 앞부분에는 학습목표를 두어 그 장에서 반드시 알아야 할 목표를
설정하였으며, 각 장의 끝 부분에는 복습문제와 해답을 두어 학생 스스로 학습한 내용을 복습할
수 있도록 하였으며, 질병의 특징과 진단법의 이해를 돕기 위해 you-tube website를 첨부하여
동영상을 통해 이해를 도울 수 있도록 하였습니다.
제1장 임상미생물학 총론에서는 임상현장에서 만나는 감염병의 발전과정과 임상병리사로서 알
아야 할 가장 기본적인 임상미생물의 특징과 진단에 대한 상식을 소개하고 임상미생물의 분류와
항생제 감수성시험과 관련된 자료를 소개하였습니다.
제2~6장까지는 임상미생물학에서 의학적으로 중요한 세균의 특성과 병원성, 진단 및 치료에
대해 소개하고 일부 학명의 변경된 부분을 바로 잡았습니다.
제7장 임상검체 배양방법에서는 환자에게서 채취한 검체에 따라 분리되는 세균의 동정과 진단
을 위한 검체 채취방법 및 결과해석 등에 대해 다루었습니다.
제8장 세균 동정을 위한 생화학적 시험에서는 세균의 동정과 진단을 위한 생화학적 실험의 목
적과 방법, 결과해석 등에 대해 그림과 함께 자세한 내용을 다루었습니다.
